Sport Training

The route crosses the Po Valley, from Emilia Romagna to Veneto; an area renowned for great cycling. The roads are those of the Giro d’Italia 2008. It is the last section before the big mountains, and therefore space for stage chasers while those at the top of the standing just watch. The section ends in Cittadella, just a few km from the Elite premises in Fontaniva.

The training session regards the last part of the stage. Before reaching the finish line there is a 5.8 km technical circuit, where the difficulties take the shape of a dozen or so bends and counterbends, suitable for gymnast riders; the ideal terrain for trying a solo hit and run sprint away from the group. In a word, there’s room for winning tactics before reaching the tricky bend 700m before the end, unleashing all your power on the pedals so the group can’t catch you, and heading straight for the finishing line on your own.
