Mount Evans is the “way to heaven”, in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in Clear Creek County, Colorado: starting from the intersection of Interstate 70 and the SS 103 near Idaho Springs, we have in front of us 40 km of ascent, a drop of 1600 meters, up to the Summit Lake Park, located on the alpine tundra at 3.912 meters above sea level.
This is the highest paved road in North America, and it passes through areas of spectacular wildlife: trees, lakes and forests give way to large and open spaces typical of high mountains, with flowers found only here and in Arctic Circle.
