Intense Training

A classic, straight from the roads of the Tour de France. The ride starts from the centre of  Béziers, in the heart of Provence, for a training session of 74.8 km with a total height difference of 925 m.

The first part is definitely easier with a fast initial ups and downs followed by a long stretch on apparently flat ground, then the road climbs a little, before a short but steep descent allowing you to get your breath back for the last part of the course. In fact, the last section is the main part of the training session.

From km 40 to km 70 the climb is gradual, without impossible gradients, and with a maximum slope of 8.4%, but continual and relentless. A climb requiring strength rather than agility; a course suitable for the power training of racing cyclist climbers. On reaching km 70 the road becomes level, so you can use the high gears and all the energy left in your body to strive towards the finish.
